Important Note: Any door approaching 8' can have a tendency to bow depending on materials used to manufacture door, usage of door and environment. It is important to consult with your door manufacturer/woodworker about bowing and how your door is constructed. Some door manufacturers will not warranty your door if they require an intermediate hinge and you choose not to use one. In order for the RAJACK Center Hung Pivot to operate properly your door must be free from any bow traits.
The Center Hung Pivot Hinge is mortised into the center of the door. Establishing a concealed pivot point which allows the door to open within the plane of the door. The door will pivot based on the location of the set pivot point installed. It is critical to remember that the hinge side of the door and/or jamb must have some type of bevel/radius prep in order for the hinge to swing clear of obstruction. See the illustration series below marked "P-2" to see a few examples.
Consult with you woodworker, door manufacturer carpenter etc. for other techniques and methods they may use to allow proper spacing for the Center Hung Pivot Hinge to swing clear. We can help make some recommendation of where your pivot point should be but you should be working with a pro to ensure you achieve the look desired.
